Pregnancy is hard.

Maternity photography doesn’t need to be.

A pregnant woman sits on the wall at Pump House Park, beside the canal. Leaves are floating in the canal. Her legs are crossed and she's smiling, it's close to sunset.

These nine months can feel so long, as you look forward to bringing your baby home.

But this is a blip on your family’s timeline, one that will never happen again (for this baby).

Let’s document this blip, and your bump, in a way that feels true to you and your family.

Relaxed, lightly-posed maternity photography at your home, or on location around Richmond.

(I have a list of locations if you’re fresh out of ideas.)

Let’s take a deep breath before the chaos of newborn life, and celebrate where you are, right now.

The only rule? This is about you.

  • Wear what you want (I have a prep guide to help you decide.)

  • Choose the location that’s most comfy for you.

  • Be yourself.

  • I’ll guide you through the session so there’s no awkward poses, and you always know what to do with your hands.

“Allison…made me feel confident…”

"My biggest fear was that I would look and feel totally uncomfortable during the shoot. Fortunately, as soon as I met Allison I was put at ease by her down-to-earth personality and laid-back approach to the photo shoot. She was very reassuring and made me feel confident. Her professionalism and sweet demeanor created a comfortable environment for me and it definitely showed through in the final product!"

Step one:

We’ll have a 15 minute phone consultation to talk about your expectations and go over any concerns you might have before we become official. Once we decide to work together, you’ll pay a $300 session fee and sign a digital contract to hold our date and time.

A family of three walks through Deep Run Park in Henrico, Virginia. The mom is pregnant and the dad is holding his daughter's hand while she clutches her comfort items.

Step two:

We’ll meet at your house or somewhere lovely in Richmond, and hang out for about an hour. Two weeks later, I’ll send you a slideshow with your fully edited images to ooh and ahh over, where you can choose the collection that best works for you. Which leads us to…

Step three:

Choose your collection!

Along with a virtual stack of digital images, each collection option comes with a print credit, so you can get your favorite pictures where they belong: on the wall, where your family can see them.

My maternity clients spend between $900 - $1400 for the session fee and collection.

The A’s to your Q’s

  • Generally, 28-34 weeks into your pregnancy is a good time for photos. If you’re already past that point, let me know, so we can expedite your session and take it off your to-do list.

  • I have a newborn + maternity package that’ll make you feel productive and efficient. Pair a 30-minute maternity session with a newborn session for an efficient and easy way to document both sides of your delivery date.

  • Every Mama-to-be has her own expectations for maternity photography. That means that the questionnaire I send you after you book will be really helpful as we plan our session!

“I had nothing to be concerned about”

“I was apprehensive about maternity photos, so I was worried at first, but I had nothing to be concerned about. Our photos were gorgeous and I absolutely love them! We can’t wait to have Allison do our in-home newborn photos, too.”
