So This is Autumn: Libby Hill Park Family Photos

Libby Hill Park in Church Hill is a popular spot in the fall, especially on warm days. Families and photographers flock to this park that overlooks Shockoe Bottom to the east and the river to the south. The famous Libby Hill stairs attract exercisers and those who like to punish themselves by running the flights as quickly as possible, while 20-somethings throw Frisbees and nearby residents do yoga in the green space.

The cobblestones are slick with fallen gingko leaves at this point in the year, but the trees still wear the majority of their gorgeous golden wardrobe, and we used them as a backdrop as a moved through the park.

The park is a perfect spot for toddlers and small kids, and for families who want to be documented as you play together before sunset.

Thank you, Gray Family, for spending a gorgeous fall afternoon with me at Libby Hill Park! If you’re interested in your own autumn family photos, but feel like Church Hill is a little out of your geographic range, I have a few other locations for you to check out here.
