Allow Me to (Re) introduce Myself

If you've been here for a while, this might feel redundant, but after a full year (sigh) of not seeing many people, I won't assume you know who I am anymore. So, allow me to (re) introduce myself and why I'm here, which might answer the question of why you're here.

Let's actually start by asking why you're here and move backwards. You're here because you're in the same boat as me. You can't believe it's been a year since we started going into seclusion and stopped doing normal things, like going to work at work and going to school at school. You flip back through the photos you've taken this year, and you're not in many. You avoided hiring a photographer in 2020 - because really, who wanted to remember that year - and now a whole year has gone by. The shock of that realization is starting to sink in and so now you're in the market for a photographer.

You don't feel safe going out maskless in public for family photos though. Plus, you haven't spent much time outside except in your immediate vicinity. But you desperately want to document this life of yours before it's all in the past. This last year has been HARD at home. But it's had its moments, and you don't want to forget them.

This is where I step in and introduce myself. I'm here to help you get in pictures, to document the fun you've actually been having with your kids, to recreate some gold star activities and let you all just play for a little while.

I'm Allison. I've been in business for 10 years (confetti!) and have been documenting the heck out of my family in earnest for the last year. I have some ideas of what we can do inside or outside your home, if you'd like to invite me over. No need for fancy clothes, and in fact, I encourage you to let the kids pick out their own clothes. I'd love to spend some time with you. And while you'll be maskless in front of the camera, I'll be double-masked behind it.

If you're worried about not having "the perfect" house / outfit / haircut / number on the scale, I'd encourage you to embrace all of that and not let it slow you down. It's your house / outfit / haircut / number, and your family loves you how you are. Embrace the mess of life and the imperfection of the moment (however long the moment lasts). Let's schedule an hour or 90 minutes to play with your kids. Playtime won't feel like forced photography time. And while it might take your kids some time to get used to the camera if they haven't seen one around much, if they're having fun, the smiles and laughter will be real.

Schedule 10 minutes on my calendar, and let’s chat on the phone (or zoom, if you like) so we can introduce ourselves in person/voice and talk about what you want to document about your family before it's gone. Hit me up.
