Once Upon a Family Photo Session

Once upon a time, Allison Patel Photography had one type and length of family session. Then one year, I decided to incorporate 30 minute mini sessions into my offerings for past clients. 30 minute sessions were convenient, and half the cost of a regular session, and became the most popular type of session among my previous clients who wanted something “really quick” for holiday cards. Then I began offering them to new clients as well. Then some time passed, and I suddenly realized I wasn't spending any time with my clients, and we weren't able to get to know each other the way I really wanted. Sessions started to feel rushed. It became harder to get to know my new clients and really capture families the way I wanted to and knew I could with a longer session.

(These photos are all from a 60 minute family session from last fall, by the way.)

Fast forward to fall 2021. I've taken a hard look at my business and where I want to go moving forward, and I’ve reached a decision. I will no longer be offering 30 minute family sessions, as of October 15. Starting on October 16, only APP Family Membership members will be able to book 30 minute family sessions. I'll still be booking family sessions at 60 minutes, and newborn sessions at 90 minutes, which will give us all more time to relax and enjoy ourselves. (30 minute maternity add-on sessions will still be available when added onto newborn sessions, and headshot sessions will still be 30 minutes.)

So, just to clarify: This is the last chance to book a 30 minute family session with me as a new or returning (non-member) client. If you're wanting to book “just a quick” session for updating family or childhood photos, now's the time. If you have questions about sessions, check out my family photo info page to see if the question is answered there. Or, email and ask me directly. When you're ready to book, schedule a call with me to get started. I can’t wait to hear from you!
